A new movie-production business is moving to Shreveport, bringing with it approximately 15 new jobs.
The company is World Wide FX, a visual effects studio that is part of Millennium Studios, which plans to build a studio in
Ledbetter Heights just west of downtown Shreveport.

World Wide FX said it plans to hire 15 people locally to produce visual effects for films shot in Louisiana.

The studio has been in operation for about 10 years in Bulgaria.

Arlena Acree, the city of Shreveport‘s liaison with the movie industry, said Shreveport was selected over competing offers from other states that also offered tax credits.

The city is holding a public meeting next Thursday to discuss increasing tax incentives for movie studios that film in this area. It will be at 3 p.m. in the skybox of Independence Stadium.
