Garret Dillahunt
Garret Dillahunt

Mike Moody – TVSquad.com

Summer Glau isn’t the only Terminator alum heading to a high-profile show next season. The cool and creepy Garrett Dillahunt has landed a role on USA’s Burn Notice. Dillahunt will play Simon, Michael’s super smart new client, when the show returns in the winter.

It’s unclear whether this is a guest stint or a recurring role, but chances are good that Dillahunt will be sticking around for a while. The actor has made memorable guest stints on Life, CSI, and Law & Order: SVU, and critics praised his recent big screen performance in The Last House on the Left.

Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart

Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart

To millions of his fans worldwide Patrick Stewart is best known for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard through seven seasons and four feature films of Star Trek or for his role as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men trilogy of films. Now the 69-year-old Shakespearian actor may have another distinction to talk about: seeing a ghost. And it wasn’t in a house where Stewart had his sighting, it was in one of England’s oldest and reportedly most haunted establishments: on the stage of Royal Haymarket Theater while working with his X-Men co-star Sir Ian McKellen.

Stewart and McKellen are playing the parts of Vladimir and Estragon in a new production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. During the first part of a recent showing of the play, Stewart saw something that caused him to momentarily throw his concentration. During the intermission McKellen asked him what had happened that caused his co-star to falter during the performance. It was then that Stewart said that during the first act of the play he saw a figure standing in the wings of the stage wearing what appeared to be a beige coat and twill trousers. The man simply should not have been there.

“Patrick told us all about it. He was stunned. I would not say frightened, but I would say impressed,” said Nigel Everett, one of the directors working at the Haymarket Theater.

Reports of the ghostly figure haunting the Haymarket have gone on for decades and been reported by stage hands, actors and audience members. Based on the descriptions given by other eyewitness it’s believed that the ghost is that of John Baldwin Buckstone, an actor as well as a manager who worked at the Haymarket during the mid-19th century. The ghost has been reported to walk down the hallways between actors’ dressing rooms as well as backstage, sometime wearing period costumes and other times wearing the street clothes fashionable during the 1860s.

Stewart’s sighting was related by McKellen and Everett during a documentary about the theater and its three centuries of operation.

Predators Looks To Hawaii

'Predators' Director Nimród Antal

'Predators' Director Nimród Antal

By Dave Gonzales – LatinoReview.com

When it was announced that Robert Rodriguez and his Troublemaker Studios were going to be inheriting the Predator franchise, news was that Rodriguez would keep the production mainly in Austin, Texas and ship in his actors and creature effects.

But, like Danny Glover will tell you: a Predator movie should really have a jungle in it. Just for good measure.

Which brings us to Tim Ryan and his Reel Hawaii report:

Scouts for 20th Century Fox’s $40-million creature feature are back on the Big Island for their third week of scouting Hawaii most of it where a lot of jungles have been looked at. The production would film for 18 days with an October start if the Hawaii portion is a go. That decision is expected to be made very soon…Some Hawaii production execs are being contacted about availability…

Predators will the the fifth film the creature has apperared in, the others being 1987′s Predator, 1990′s Predator 2 and the dismal Alien Vs. Predator movies, the second mostly dealing with the Predalien.

Predators will be directed by Nimród Antal and begins shooting on September 28th, a few weeks after Rodriguez and company wrap Machete, also in Austin. Predators tells the story of a group of people stranded on the Predator home world and the horrible surprises they find waiting there.

Cameron Diaz as Lenore Case in Green Hornet

Cameron Diaz as Lenore Case in Green Hornet

From WorstPreviews.com

Even though Seth Rogen has been trying to convince fans that everything is proceeding smoothly on “The Green Hornet,” Columbia Pictures has just announced that it has moved the film from its July 7th, 2010 release date to December 17th, 2010.

“We’re both relieved and psyched about the change,” Rogen told HitFix. “It gives more time for post, which would have been immensely rushed if we were to come out in the summer.”

He continued: “It also affords us more time to promote the film, (now we can go to Comic-Con with more than a car!) and ultimately is a great vote of confidence from the studio. We got the same date that movies like ‘I Am Legend’ and ‘Avatar’ are getting, so we’re thrilled to be there.”

It is believed that the five month delay is created at the hands of Stephen Chow, who first signed to direct and star in “The Green Hornet” and then abandoned both positions. And since Columbia couldn’t have the Summer release, it was forced to push the film till December, another popular month for action films.

Twilight New Moon

from ChicagoTribune.com

When the citizenry of small town Bon Temps in HBO’s vampire series “True Blood” are up to no good, their eyes turn an opaque black.

In the movie “New Moon,” the second installment in Stephenie Meyer’s popular vampire “Twilight” saga, director Chris Weitz has given the aristocratic vampire clan called the Volturi custom-crafted blood-red eyes.

“They’re all hand-painted, specially manufactured contacts,” Weitz tells people.com. “They’re opaque red, almost like preying mantis eyes. You can’t really see into them.”

“New Moon,” due out Nov. 20, also features Dakota Fanning as Jane, an angelic-looking Volturi vampire who inflicts physical torture on her victims.

not the only one. Before long, everyone starts asking, “What did you see?” As Mark and his team struggle to figure out what caused this bizarre event, they begin to piece together the future by creating a huge database of people’s flash forwards from all over the world – The Mosaic Collective. Jennifer’s Body

Megan Fox

Megan Fox

From Movie-Moron.com

Her role in Transformers may have been responsible for siring the somewhat dubious experience of being sat in a cinema where the entire male section of the audience were undergoing a simultaneous swelling of the groinal region, but one certainly can’t hold that against Megan Fox.

And her star looks only set to continue its recent ascent with Jennifer’s Body, a high school horror comedy from the pen of Oscar-winning Juno writer Diablo Cody, in which Fox’s eponymous cheerleader is sacrificed by Adam Brody’s wannabe rock star Nikolai Wolf as part of his bid to land the most Faustian of record deals.

However, the blood-letting all goes a bit awry and Jennifer begins chowing down on her fellow

students in order to glut her demonic hunger. Directed by Girlfight and Æon Flux helmer Karyn Kusama, and co-starring Amanda Seyfried as “Needy” Lesnicky and Johnny Simmons as Chip Dove (sharing a character name with Matthew Modine’s rapist jock in Hotel New Hampshire), Jennifer’s Body appears an attempt to balance the kind of dark satire of high school society seen in Michael Lehmann’s Heathers with some outright genre thrills. Although whether the shocks contained within the movie itself can measure up to the horror of a soundtrack album featuring such haircut indie guitar goons as Black Kids, White Lies and Panic at the Disco remains to be seen.
