Here’s the Story- It’s The Old West.. where a lone cowboy leads an uprising against a terror from beyond our world. 1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear. But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky.

Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known. Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force.

With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents-townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors-all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

Brad Peyton (Cats and Dogs 2) is on board to direct the film in which Josh Hutcherson is reprising his role as explorer Sean Anderson. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is also starring in the pic. The story sees Hutcherson and Johnson forced to go a trip to a mythical and monstrous island to find his missing grandfather.

Hudgens plays a Pacific Islander who gets swept into the adventure and end up falling for Hutcherson.

Production is eyeing a late October start in North Carolina and Hawaii. The script is loosely based on Jules Verne’s “The Mysterious Island.”

Colin Farrell will sink his teeth into “Fright Night,” DreamWorks’ remake of the cult 1985 film that also will see Toni Collette play a mom who falls under his spell.

The two join Anton Yelchin in the new version, which sticks to the original concept of a teen (Yelchin) being convinced that his new neighbor is a vampire, though no one will believe him.

Farrell has the plum role of the vampire, named Jerry, who on the surface appears to be a cool guy but is really preying on the neighborhood. Chris Sarandon played the role in the 1985 pic.

Collette is Yelchin’s mom, who at first disapproves of the new arrival but changes her attitude when she meets the magnetic man and — surprise — doesn’t believe her son when he tries to tell her Jerry is a vampire.

Michael De Luca and Alison R. Rosenzweig are producing “Fright,” which Craig Gillespie is directing. Lloyd Ivan Miller, Michael Gaeta and Josh Bratman are executive producing.  The movie will be released through Disney.

JAKARTA, Indonesia — The radical Islamic Defenders Front is set to protest the upcoming release of an Indonesian horror movie starring adult superstar Tera Patrick.

The movie — “The Moans of a Virgin Ghost” — is scheduled to be released Oct. 14.

Reports said that the hardline group — aka FPI — will rally thousands of paramilitary units to protest against the Film Censorship Board and the producers, K2K productions.

Habib Salim Alatas, head of the Jakarta chapter of the FPI, said he was unaware that Patrick was in Indonesia to shoot the movie.

“The movie producers have been so underhanded. It makes us stressed,” Alatas said.

He added, “The next time a porn film star lands at Soekarno Hatta airport, we will block them. Nobody told us that the actress had already come and shot the movie in Indonesia.”

The group apparently tried to block porn production in the past but the producers ignored the threats.

“We staged a demonstration against the production house but apparently it didn’t work. They are smarter this time, they did not leak anything about the movie on the Internet or on Twitter,” Alatas said.

It isn’t clear whether Patrick performs hardcore sex in the film, but the film’s producer KK Dheraj said the movie had passed all censorship requirements.

He said it took more than 16 months to convince Patrick to appear in the movie. “The first time she heard the offer was from Indonesia, she was scared. She refused the movie four or five times before she finally agreed,” Dheraj said.

“To have Tera Patrick in the movie was risky. I did the shooting secretly outside of Jakarta, 10 days before the fasting month started. Twenty bodyguards were deployed to guard her from the airport to the hotel room,” Dheraj said, adding that Patrick was no longer in Jakarta.

This wasn’t the first attempt by the group to stop porn production. The FPI successfully protested against Japanese porn actress Miyabi who was set to star in a comedy movie titled “Kidnapping Miyabi,” forcing her to cancel her participation in the film.

Alatas and the FPI’s message to porn stars is to stay out of Indonesia. “We will not stand still,” he said.

Summit Entertainment has announced the crew of young actors set to play the members of The Denali Coven in the upcoming Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn movies.

For the vegetarian family will be played by Christian Camargo (The Hurt Locker) in the role of Eleazar; Casey LaBow (Moonlight) as Kate, Mia Maestro (Alias) as Carmen, MyAnna Buring (Doomsday) as Tanya; and the previously announced Maggie Grace (Lost, Taken) as Irina.

Much of the world got to know her as Col. Wilma Deering on the “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” television series. Though she later played Kate on “Silver Spoons,” there was something about that Spandex that was hard to forget.

But today, actress Erin Gray has found a way to combine her celebrity with the very real business of fan-based conventions. At events like Dragon*Con in Atlanta, the woman known for playing strong female characters now uses her brains to wrangle issues for her celebrity clients as they prepare for close encounters with fans.

Gray runs a company called Heroes for Hire, which represents about 35 celebrity clients at conventions around the world. CNN caught up with her at Dragon*Con in Atlanta (unofficially referred to as “PartyCon”). Dragon*Con is known for being the most “fan-friendly” convention, which, in itself, can pose both unique opportunities and unique challenges.

Heading into the weekend, there were 35,000 people expected to attend, primarily to see some of the 400 celebrity guests who sign autographs and mingle with the crowds. Gray knew this meant that there were a lot of things to plan for.

“We create 30-page spreadsheets so that we can keep track of where we are in the process,” Gray said. “Are the contracts signed? Have the photos and bios been sent? Are the travel details done?”

Today, the former space colonel walks a fine line between getting her clients closer to their fans at conventions and keeping them away. “We’ve had death threats before,” she said.

“I’ve had my own personal stalker. I would get nude drawings of my body with a knife and a message saying ‘I’m watching you’ and ‘I’m going to get you.’ When you have a baby, you just feel so vulnerable. We couldn’t figure it out because it was happening at the studio,” Gray said. Incidentally, it turned out to be a security guard.

Independent comic book publishers rarely get the stunning Hollywood deals right off the bat, let alone before they officially release their first comic book. So it is with great pride that Stranger Comics announces that their first title,The Untamed, has been acquired by visionary producer Lloyd Levin (Watchmen, Hellboy, Tomb Raider). This marks the first time in history a comic company has sold its maiden property as a feature film before the official launch of the comic book title.

Written by Sebastian A. Jones with art by Peter Bergting (Dungeons & Dragons, Frazetta’s Creatures) and Darrell May, The Untamed is a dark fantasy tale following the story of a man who makes a deal with the devil to be released from hell for seven days to reap vengeance on the seven souls who murdered him and his family. But his quest for retribution turns to one of redemption when he’s given a second chance to make the right decision, even though it may cost him his immortal soul.

   The film appealed to Levin on many levels and he’s eager to start preproduction. “The tale is Untamed and so is the filmmaking,” said Levin who is assembling an elite team of renaissance entertainment pioneers. Levin will produce and Andrew Cosby will direct.

Sometimes all it takes to turn a movie into a “must-see” is one memorable image. Lately, those memorable moments from trailers and ads have been eye-popping digital effects. Like tidal waves cresting over the Himalayas in “2012″ or giant robots tumbling down the highway in “Transformers.”

This week’s horror movie release “The Last Exorcism” has been garnering much attention with a shot just as impressive as anything from a big-budget blockbuster. The trailer ends with the image of a young woman in a nightgown and boots bent over backwards at an impossible angle. It’s so memorable and unsettling that the studio used it for the movie’s poster. What makes it impressive, though, is that it does not use any special effects. No CGI, no puppets.
